Dear Family and Friends: Thanks to Regina’s expertise and computer skills, I have now entered the world of the BLOG. Now I can keep you all up to date on my latest adventures and creations. So, please be patient, because this is new to Regina and she is wading in water where she never was before. I am following behind her with an air tube. We are both now active painters. Regina has joined the Art Guild and will be juried in October. I am going to be at the Clothes Line Sale on August 2nd. We both hope you can come. I am also exhibiting a series of portraits at Pegusus’ gallery. So come down and take a look.
Below is a sample of a landscape that I did. I also do cityscapes, portraits, and still lifes.
Herb Berman’s first blog message
July 16, 2008 by herb32427
Herb, it is so wonderful to find you out here in the virtual world as well in in the physical world! All this technology is still such a mystery to me, so i am always encouraged to find people like yourself being willing to try whatever means of communication that might be able to facilitate more understanding in the arts in general, not to mention brave exploration into self promotion and marketing. And to the lovely good fairy Regina who is responsible for putting this blog site together; Good job!
To all who may not have been into the gallery this month, Pegasus Gallery is featuring a collection of Herb Berman’s portrait paintings on the wall of the Original Gallery space. There are some familiar faces from the community, and some that may be new to you; what is unmistakable though, is Herb’s unbelievable talent for rendering in paint what God and Nature spent so long creating. Herb’s technical skills are clearly the accumulation and proof of years of hungry studying and diligent learning with teachers and ever-changing tools, unbelievable years of hard WORK , and grateful and open eyes. If you have a chance, go by the gallery and see what i mean.
Thanks Herb, for sharing your blog site, (and your lovely wife), your art and your self with this community and for continuing to set the example to all of us as artists, that “showing up” is the most important part to the process.
Well done Herb!
Peace
Paige Shumway
