Dear People: We are now entering 2009. We do not know what this year will bring, we can only hope it will be Peace On Earth, Good Health, and a Better Economy for everyone. Since the economy now is on a downer, so are art sales. This is no excuse to stop painting. Let us paint, paint, paint, and make the world a more beautiful place for everyone in our troubled times.

Now it is time to blow Regina’s horn. Let me give her a break. She finished a sunset coastal acrylic painting called “The Sentenial.” It is with Pegasus’s December show, and is hanging with another painting she did plus one of mine, so the two of us are sharing a wall in the “Old World Deli.” Regina figures she would get more exposure in the restaurant. She is very happy for the opportunity given her to have her work viewed by her beloved Corvallis.

Dear People:
Forrest Temple opened up 5 years ago. It brought to the City of Corvallis a wonderous place of art, furniture, lighting, and accessories for these items. I have been there for most of the time as their artist in residence. With all the beautiful items surrounding me, I felt like I was in heaven. Other artists besides myself, got to exhibit their works, and give people an overall view of some of the art world. Now, with the economic meltdown, Forrest Temple is closing its doors. There is a special sale starting Friday, for 3 days. If you can, come in, look around, enjoy the atmosphere of all this beauty, and maybe, take advantage of the sale. Hope to see you all drop by.

On November 5th, the weather could not have been worse. It was rainy a bit foggy, and just plain miserable. The amount of people that came was small, but it was a lively group. There were goodies to eat, wine to drink, and music to add to the background of the marvelous art work that is on display for the whole month of November. So the weather outside was frightful, but inside the gallery, the atmosphere

Dear People:
When our computer melted, we bought a new computer, and switched to a new internet provider. Our new e-mail is Chroma24@comcast.net. So now you can see my blog, and you can e-mail me also. It is a wonderful thing to be able to talk with people about different perspectives of art and life. We are going through very hard times now, and we have to put beauty into this tired, tired world.

Central Park
Dear People:
It was a wonderful weekend painting portraits with Bill Shumway at the Benton County Museum in Philomath. People who came were given a treat by all the wonderful works of art on the walls that will be there until December. In the middle of the room, Bill Shumway and I had our easels up, and were painting away, with people posing for us, and asking questions. Around the room on the floor and other easels, were paintings by Bill and myself. At the end of the day, these were taken away, but many beautiful works of art are there for people to look at on the walls, and in the cases. There are fiber arts, pottery, as well as paintings. A really wonderful feast for the eyes.

Dear People I have been experimenting more with reflective light, and hope to show this work around town shortly. Also some of my work and a couple of the artists’ easels that I made will be on display at the Benton County Museum later this month. Hope to see you there.

This has been a really busy summer with good things happening. My Daughter Bonnie is coming out to visit us for a week, so you will not hear from me for a while. I promise to take lots of pictures, and maybe, even, do a portrait of Bonnie. Bonnie is coming to us from Brooklyn, New York, so we hope she will enjoy her visit with us on the west coast. Until next time, enjoy the summer.
